Essential cookies (always on)

These cookies are required for the Service to work. You cannot disable them while using a logged-in session.

__session (Clerk) — keeps you signed in. Lifetime: session, refreshed on activity.
__client_uat (Clerk) — anti-fraud authentication metadata. Lifetime: 1 year.
__stripe_mid / __stripe_sid (Stripe, only on billing pages) — fraud prevention for payments. Lifetime: up to 1 year.
hwmd_cookie_consent_v1 (handwritten.md) — remembers your cookie preferences. Lifetime: 1 year. Stored in localStorage, not a cookie strictly speaking, but listed here for completeness.

Analytics cookies (opt-in)

Set only if you tap “Accept all” in the cookie banner. Helps us understand which features are useful and which are confusing. Identified by a random ID, never by email.

ph_* (PostHog, EU-hosted) — anonymous product analytics. Lifetime: up to 1 year.

What we don't use

No tracking cookies.
No advertising cookies.
No third-party social-media cookies.
No cross-site tracking pixels.

Changing your choice

Clear the “hwmd_cookie_consent_v1” key from your browser's site storage and reload — the consent banner will return so you can choose again. You can also email privacy@handwritten.md and we'll erase analytics records associated with your account.
